Basket chair by Gian Franco Legler

Timeless Basket Chair designed in 1951 by Gian Franco Legler for the Italian restaurant The Basket and produced by J. Bally in Switzerland. The chair features a woven rattan seat and backrest formed from one continuous piece, beautifully balanced by a black tubular steel frame.

Awarded the Good Design Award by Museum of Modern Art in New York, this timeless design combines craftsmanship, comfort and sculptural simplicity. The contrast between natural rattan and the architectural steel frame gives the chair a warm yet refined presence.

In good vintage condition, with wear consistent with age and use.
